There are stories that begin long before us. Ours starts in the late 19th century, with an olive grove cultivated by José Maria Eugénio de Almeida, the first Count of Vill’Alva, on an estate in the Baixo Alentejo region where the sun sets on the border. Over 150 years later, that very olive grove gave rise to Verde Sol.

I was born and raised on that same estate: Herdade da Negrita. There, I realized that the land has a memory, and to ignore it would be to waste the best of what we have. For generations, our family has cultivated the land with hands, time, and heart. It is this legacy of respect for nature, of harvests guided by experience, and the wisdom passed down from parents to children that lives on in every bottle.
